Meet Gina Hoagland

Meet Gina Hoagland

Gina has been a member of Forum for over 20 years and at one point was the president of our board. She is the CEO of and a partner in Collaborative Strategies, a management consulting firm providing strategic planning, succession planning, board development, and search consulting to businesses and non-profit organizations. She’s also very active on boards including Triad Bank, Huttig Building Products, John Burroughs, Opera Theatre, and a dozen privately-held businesses.

She loves working with clients and helping them define a future vision: a roadmap to go from  here to there. During COVID, Gina and her team have worked with many clients to rethink or reaffirm their direction. COVID has stimulated people to take a hard look at their business models before moving forward.

When it comes to leadership, Gina doesn’t distinguish between genders. She is a fan of the thinking from Jim Collin’s book, From Good to Great, and the chart below is something she often uses when she is educating clients on leadership.

Gina is married to Lee, a portfolio manager, and they have three kids. The couple broke ground when she and her husband decided he would switch to part-time so he could stay home as the primary caregiver.

Gina is an avid wine collector, cook, fitness addict, and reader.

Her recommendations:

To drink:  Austrian wines. Anything from the importer Peter Weygandt is excellent.  And for an everyday reasonably priced wine, she offers a burgundy from Chavy-Chouet.  For a big red, check out Sheridan Vineyards from Washington state.

To read:  Any Agatha Christie mystery.

To watch: The Queen’s Gambit: a great Netflix mini-series.
