Virtual Tour of City Foundry, Public St. Louis Market in Midtown

Forum visited City Foundry--a new destination food hall and public market, entertainment spaces, shops and offices located between I-64 and the Forest Park Expressway near IKEA, SLU and Cortex in St. Louis’ fastest growing area. Christina Weaver, marketing director of New + Found, the Lawrence Group’s development arm, provided background and answered questions on the project, which has been partly delayed due to COVID-19 but still slated to open this spring. Business tenants are currently operating at the site.

The Foundry site was a manufacturing facility in midtown for Century Electric from the early 20th century until 2007. Steve Smith, CEO of Lawrence Group, identified the Foundry as a development destination of high retail, tourism and office potential with a median age of 34 years, 58% college-educated population, 30,000 college students and several hundred thousand employees working within 3 miles of its location.

New + Found, the developer’s mission is, “We create places for community, places for innovation, places for transformation.” Visit City Foundry for the latest news about the project or to join City Foundry’s mailing list.
