Meet Allyson Lavender

Meet Allyson Lavender

With a storied career in the transportation sector, Allyson has the experience and expertise to manage teams in a variety of functions. Allyson currently serves as a Vice President at XTRA Lease LLC managing Information Technology, Marketing, and Operations—a collaborative role that requires coordination, collaboration, and cooperation, skills that Allyson has come to master, over the years.

She joined XTRA Lease in 2007, as Branch Manager located in Western Tennessee, and her career has taken her across the country and back again—from TN to Atlanta to Southern CA. She and her family moved to St. Louis for her current role in January 2019—little time to explore all St. Louis has to offer, before COVID hit in early 2020.

When asked about leading in a predominantly male industry, she recommends females look out for one another. St. Louis Forum provides a supportive community for female leaders in business. Like Forum’s purpose, Allyson shares a similar pathos—women supporting women.

In her free time, Allyson enjoys spending time with her husband and two children—ages 8 and 5. With the pandemic, exploring St. Louis has looked different than it once did back in 2019, when she moved to the area. However, she’s been making do. She and her husband make time for date nights—getting takeout from local St. Louis eats. She also enjoys spending time outside—exploring her community, the DeMun neighborhood of St. Louis.

Her recommendations for Forum members:
Check out The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, a television series on Amazon Prime. She also recommends “Stamped: Anti-Racism and You,” a novel by Jason Reynolds.
