Meet Dr. Tiffany Slater

Dr. Slater of HR TailorMade is more than just a business leader—she’s a visionary creating spaces for people to thrive both professionally and personally. As the founder of HR TailorMade, Dr. Slater doesn’t just aim to solve human resource challenges; she seeks to redefine the employee experience, crafting workplaces where individuals can live their best lives.

Happy people make the world a better place,” Dr. Slater shares. This philosophy drives her mission to build a company culture that values joy, balance, and intentionality. Through HR TailorMade, she and her team provide HR support for businesses, a vital extension of their clients’ operations. The work is deeply fulfilling for Dr. Slater, who describes it as her “dream job.”

Yet, this dream was born from a season of profound challenge. After experiencing the toll of a high-pressure job and two major health scares, Dr. Slater made a bold decision: she gave seven months' notice, trusting her faith to guide her next steps. “I didn’t know what I was going to sell or who I was going to sell to,” she admits. “But I figured that God had already worked it out.”

Her husband, an entrepreneur himself, supported her leap of faith. As the family’s primary breadwinner at the time, Dr. Tiffany approached the decision with both confidence and collaboration, ensuring their next chapter was a joint effort. Remarkably, just two weeks before her final day, her husband landed a client whose work replaced her salary—further affirming her belief in trusting the process. By December 2018, HR TailorMade was born, and with it, Dr. Tiffany found a way to transform her passion for people into a thriving business.

A Heart for People and a Dream for the Future

Dr. Slater’s leadership is rooted in empathy. She understands firsthand the sacrifices many make for their careers—long hours, missed family moments, and personal exhaustion. “It’s not fair,” she reflects, recounting weekends spent catching up on sleep instead of memories with her children. Her mission is to ensure her employees and clients never face the same struggles. “Organizations need to understand that people matter. What happens in the workplace impacts every other part of life.”

Beyond her work, Dr. Slater dreams of one day transitioning to a role that embodies peace and self-care: becoming a spa vlogger. “The spa is where I’m most at peace,” she says with a smile. This future vision is not just a whim but a testament to her belief in balancing ambition with joy.

Life Beyond the Office

Dr. Slater’s personal life is as intentional as her professional one. She is deeply engaged with the St. Louis Forum, serving on its board as a member at large. She values the organization as a space to connect with like-minded professionals and contribute to meaningful conversations. “The Forum is where I’ve chosen to be present,” she explains, highlighting her dedication to investing her time and energy in spaces that foster growth and collaboration.

For Dr. Slater, it’s not about being everywhere—it’s about showing up fully where it matters most, like with her family. A devoted wife and mother to two teenage boys, she and her family stay active through sports, school events, and coaching. When she’s not cheering from the sidelines, you’ll likely find her walking around a lake with friends, attending Pilates classes, or savoring her favorite TV shows.

When asked for a recommendation, Dr. Slater highlighted The 40-Day Prayer Challenge by Mark Batterson. It’s a book she’s read multiple times and continues to revisit. “It’s one of my favorites,” she shares, reflecting the strong foundation her faith provides in both her personal and professional life.

Dr. Slater’s journey is a testament to the power of clarity, courage, and conviction. By prioritizing intentionality in every aspect of her life, she has built a career that empowers others, a family life rooted in connection, and a vision for the future that inspires those around her.
